Tesla Roadster Prototype Papercraft Release

The papercraft for the Tesla Roadster prototype is finally ready for release. This one was a long time in the making mainly due to a lack of time to dedicate on it. I was a little worried the real Tesla Roadster would be released before I could finish the papercraft but looks like the real one won’t be available for a while longer.

You can download the templates, instructions, and (for the first time) a locked PDO file in case you want to change the textures or print in higher quality. Check out the Bikes and Cars section to download now!

Here are some final renders:

Tesla Roadster Papercraft model is still alive!

It has been a year since an update but I’ve been working off and on to try and finish this papercraft of the Tesla Roadster. I am currently working on unfolding and making the instructions. After that I should be able to make a test build to ensure there aren’t any major issues and to make changes if necessary. I’m working kind of slowly on this as I am not having as much time as I would like to spend on this project these days. It will get done eventually! Here are some pictures of the final textured 3d model

Preview of upcoming Tesla Roadster Papercraft

I initially thought to myself that I might try to expand to other types of papercraft but I think I may still do a few more vehicles. One project I had on the back burner is a papercraft based on the new Tesla Roadster. I kind of wanted to release it around the time the real roadster is released but who knows when that will be. Could be many years from now.

This is a challenging one similar to the model 3 due to the curvy nature of the body. I will have to make some compromises but hopefully it will approximate the real thing pretty closely. Here is a preview of what I have so far. A lot of work left to do but I look forward to it! -LD

2020 C8 Corvette Stingray Papercraft Released!

At long last, the 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray Papercraft has been released. This was a long effort but an enjoyable one. Renders of the model are shown below with the different color options. You can, of course, supply your own colored premium paper to get a custom finish. I would recommend glossy for the body so it can shine nicely in the light. Enjoy it and happy papercrafting! –LouDog

Progress on 2020 Corvette Stingray

I have reached a point where I am done with the major modeling on the 2020 Corvette Stingray papercraft model. Since the last update, I have added in the engine bay with a very simple representation of the visible portion of the engine (intake manifold and rocker covers) through the glass covered rear hatch. I also added the side mirrors, detailed wheels, tail lights, and rear spoiler. Next step will be the texturing which will help the details be more visible! –LD

New papercraft announcement: 2020 Corvette Stingray

Onwards to a new papercraft that I’ve started to develop. It’s another car but this time it is a mid-engine supercar that is taking the industry by shock and surprise! It’s the 2020 Corvette! I’ve started to get the basic shape from reference photos and here are the results. Next step is to get some definition into the wheels and begin texturing to really make it pop!

Finished the 3d model for the Tesla Model 3

Hello all! I have finally finished the 3d model for the Tesla Model 3 papercraft. A lot of time was spent doing the texturing which I think is what really helps make the model look convincing. I decided not to do the interior of the car and so the windows are opaque but have a fake glass-like reflective texture. I am now ready to take it to the next stage which is unwrapping with Pepakura Designer.

Here are some pictures of the render:
